Ben Hollis

Thanks to the Information Superhighway I have been able to reconnect with a handful to old chums including Jeff Korman, David Harris, Frank Fallon, Mark Smith. I'm amazed at how clearly I remember stories and faces from my Seely Place days. I'm looking forward to seeing many of you again. (Our family left Scarsdale for Chicago in the late summer of 1965 -- a surprise move. Thus I had no chance to say goodbye to my class.)
Went to GWU in DC. Continued cracking people up over the years and wound up hosting and producing a very popular TV show for the local PBS station -- "WILD CHICAGO." (Look it up online. I'm the guy wearing the safari shorts and pith helmet, traipsing around the urban jungle.)
My life has been in media and in performing/inspiring others to claim their greatness -- via good humor the spirit of improvisational play.

In 5th grade I dropped a tablet into Mr Byrne's ever present water glass that turned the clear liquid into something resembling beer (or worse). He was going to crucify Steve Panik for the prank but I bravely took the hit and life went on. I also remember an amazingly loud fart from Jimmy Hohorst (?) during a school play. He chose the perfect moment, at a dramatic pregnant pause, and the place went up for grabs. Diane Lee, do you realize you gave me my first kiss? It was in one of those concrete tunnels on the playground. David Harris witnessed it. Always good to have witnesses.

I used to hang with John Rusin, GP Delaney and Jesse Feldman. Lived at 48 Glenwood Road. Longtime pals with Carl Ern and David Harris. Also the late great Tim O'Connor. Had a crush on Jenny Haig. Some kid named Doug punched me in the nose once and I think I blacked out. I'll be looking for that guy.
